When you are doing something you love, it goes by too fast.
If you are doing something you hate, it takes forever-and-a-day to go by.

Time is the single thing we cannot control. Death is driven by time. Change is caused by time. Love is directed through time. All wrapped in a nice little bow of stress, agony, hope and anticipation.

My nieces are turning 16 years old this year. Twins. Stunning little girls women. BUT… they were two years old only yesterday! Yesterday I taught them to somersault. Yesterday they could barely hold a conversation, by hardly stringing a couple of words together. And now? Today they are gorgeous girls women telling me about their boyfriends and parties and high schools.

No!!! Push back those boobies and put bricks on their heads to make them small again, please!

We all have goals. “I will start learning the splits. But I will start tomorrow”. And then tomorrow turns into another tomorrow and another and another. Before we know it, the twins are married, and you cannot even touch your toes. Never mind having learned the splits!

Tomorrow is not guaranteed, my dear. Teach yourself to do that thing you have always wanted. Bath in your Suikerbekkie bath shots. Light that precious candle.

Because plainly put: time is precious. Stop holding out for a “better” day. 🍃
