It is hot. It is really, really hot. I am sitting outside with my back against a bag of concrete. The Cape Town wind is blowing me away.

We are busy remodelling our little courtyard. So I am sitting between rubble and sand and concrete. It is an absolute mess.

But beside me is a butterfly frolicking in the sun. Playing between the flowers. So beautiful. Big and black with yellow spots.

So yes, our backyard is a mess at the moment. But only for a while. After everything is done, and all of our plants are in and the benches are built, the butterfly and all of his friends can frolic together, enjoying our flowers.

Yes, your life might seem like a mess at times. It might be filled with rubble and concrete that you might feel is impossible to break, and that is impossible to get rid of. It might feel that you are drowning in rubble.
